Museo de Albarracín

The Centre of Interpretation of Pozondón, opened in 2008 in what had previously been the local bakery for many years, is dedicated to the traditional architecture of the different towns of the Cultural Park, giving value to this built heritage which is also witness of the memories of these villages.
Before deepening into this type of architecture, a wonderful audiovisual presentation will take us through the town centres of the Cultural Park, showing the best examples and introducing us to the construction materials and techniques used by the inhabitants of this territory during centuries, to build their houses and agricultural and farming facilities.
After visiting the entire Centre of Interpretation, to get to know in detail the materials in the traditional architecture: plaster, lime, wood, earth, iron and stone; with which stables, barns and houses were built. Amongst the different traditional architecture typologies explained at this Centre we have to point out two of them due to their importance. The first one is the city centre of Albarracín and the typical architecture of the most humble houses adapted to the different activities – agriculture, farming, etc. for which they were used.
