The function of this centre is to inform and guide people during their visit to the Protected Landscape of the Pinares de Rodeno, at the same time that it offers a wider knowledge and enjoyment of the natural and cultural values of this space. The Dornaque Interpretation Centre includes didactic exhibitions, audiovisual presentations, information on the area, as well as different supporting publications in order to know the characteristics of the Rodeno.
Whoever visits the Dornaque Interpretation Centre will find in the first hall different information panels dedicated to the rocks and the rodeno pine trees, and to the traditional uses of the natural resources. Special attention must be paid to the ancient occupation of “resining”, regarding which there is a representation that shows how our ancestors extracted resin from the Pinus pinaster, the tools they used… Through their senses, the visitors can discover the different formations of red sandstone of the Triassic and the different tree species of the Protected Landscape, the fauna that lives in the rocks, etc.
