Museo de Albarracín

The museum occupies the original wards of the hospital. The main floor has been used for the city’s medieval history, showing the most interesting pieces drawn from the archaeological excavations of the main castle and its surroundings, amongst information panels, models and a wonderful audiovisual presentation. From the Islamic period we have to point out, amongst other details, the extraordinary collection of ceramic materials of the 11th century, and a splendid reproduction of an essence jar of that same period. Belonging to a later Christian period we have to mention the city’s Code of Laws (13th century), the collection of Episcopal stamps, ceramic varieties, coins and other interesting metallic objects.
