The botanical exhibition of Calomarde is located in the heart of the municipality, in the ancient forge enabled for such purpose. At this exhibition the visitors can observe more than one hundred plant species classified and shown in different showcases. The most characteristic tree species of the region, such as the Pinus nigra (black pine), the Pinus sylvestris (Scots pine), the Juniperus thurifera (Spanish juniper), the Quercus pyrenaica (Pyrenean oak) or the Crataegus monogyna (common hawthorn) occupy a significant place in the hall. Leaves, flowers, fruits of males and females in perfect conditions are shown in this exhibition, as well as photographs that show the appearance of the trees during the four seasons.
Timetables: Everyday in July and August from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Rest of the year: bookings are necessary.
