The facilities of the Centre of Interpretation “Virgen del Tremedal” is located in a two-storey building adjacent to the Sanctuary of Tremedal called the “House of the Sanctuary Caretaker” because it was where the hermit in charge of the maintenance and taking care of the sanctuary’s facilities and hospices lived. The house has two floors of 33.557 and 43.055 m2 respectively and offers visitors two different spaces separated according to the primitive functions of the rooms.
This Centre of Interpretation intends to disseminate the past importance of the worship of the Virgen del Tremedal whose devotion acquired universal nature, crossing all borders, paying no attention to regional, provincial or national boundaries. As well as the towns that continue to worship the Virgen del Tremedal, whose image they still venerate (Alcocer, Loscos, Orihuela del Tremedal, Pinilla del Olmo, San Ramón de Costa Rica and Tronchón), there are other religious manifestations that, despite their private and individual nature, are still very interesting. Chapels, ceramic murals, vaulted niches, boundary crosses, canvases ... are reproduced throughout the national geography in appreciation of a happy-ending intervention of María Santísima del Tremedal. On the different panels and in the different showcases of the centre the visitors can see samples of all the latter.
